ELECTIONS ACTION GROUP

The RAR Elections Group works to make New York State government truly democratic by supporting voting and campaign finance reforms, progressive candidates, and progressive legislation.  Having worked with coalition partners in 2017 and 2018 to bring down the Independent Democratic Conference (a group of Democratic State Senators who handed control of the State Senate to the GOP), the Elections Group is now looking ahead to 2020.

We will seek to increase the Democratic majority in the NY State Senate, bring primary challenges to Democratic Assembly Members who block progressive legislation, and position the state legislature to conduct fair electoral redistricting based on the results of the 2020 census. We will also support electoral efforts in other states and on the national level when consistent with the values of RAR.
