DON'T BANK ON THE BOMB!
NYC NUCLEAR WEAPONS DIVESTMENT CAMPAIGN KIT
New York City Council Finance Chair Daniel Dromm has composed a letter to NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer asking that NYC divest its pensions and finances from nuclear weapons producers and the financial institutions invested in them. This campaign serves to align New York City with the articles set forth in the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, adopted on July 7, 2017. The NYC Nuclear Weapons Divestment Campaign, made up of campaigners from the 2017 Nobel Peace Laureate ICAN (the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons), and endorsed by the direct action group Rise and Resist, is lobbying the City Council to obtain as many co-signers to Council Member Dromm’s letter as possible. As of August 1, 2018, there are 14 co-signers out of 51 council members.
